Favorite reads of 2018

I didn't read as much as I really wanted to in 2018. With having a full time job and other things I just didn't have the time. But, I did read some wonderful books in the past year. Here is my list of my favoirte books I'vev read in 2018.

1.) Making Faces by Amy Harmon

My sister got me this book for my birthday. It was on my TBR on goodreads. I ended up reading it within in three days. I LOVED LOVED this book. This book hit me right in the gut and made me ugly cry multiple times. I recommended this book to my Mom, my Aunt, and my best friend. I also recommend it to you if you are reading this. It shows you that beauty is not whats on the outside, but whats on the inside.

2.) Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

I have most of Colleen Hoovers books. I threw this book in my book bag on my road trip to Las Vegas. I finished it on the two day drive. Even if I wasn't on a road trip I know I still would have finished it that fast. I remember finishing it and feeling a empty hole. I knew it was gonna take me a while to get over this book, and it did.

3.) Stay With Me by Mila Gray

I stayed up until 1:30 reading this book. When a book does that to me I know its good! I've always loved military heroes in books. Noel or Walker as they call him in this book is a wounded Marine. Didi has a internship that hospital that he is staying. As predicted there is a romance between them. What I loved about this book is that there was many other characters in the book that I loved. The book had about a 3 star rating on goodreads. I try not to listen to reviews, because I'm usually that one that never agrees with what people say. This book was one of my five star reads for 2018!

That wraps up my favorite 2018 reads. I read more books than this, but these were by far my favorite. I'm excited to see what I read for 2019.

Book Review for Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

*I will not post spoilers in my reviews. I HATE spoilers. I figure if you want to find out what happens you need to read it :) Simple as that.

First of all let me say this book was BEAUTIFUL. The cover, the writing, the characters, pretty much the whole shebang. Now I must admit I judge a book by its cover and I hate that I do that with a passion (I am trying to get passed that). This book caught me at my local library. I spend a lot of time in there because my aunt and little sister both work there. My whole family is filled with book worms. It took me just under a week to finish this. I usually can get a really good book done with-in a few days, but since I had a lot going on it took me longer.

This book has everything a good book needs. A little romance, mystery, and great characters. The characters in this book are written so vividly that I could just picture them in my head. Warning!! If you are a cry baby like me this book will make you cry on multiple occasions. This book also keeps you guessing until the very end and I loved that!

Here is a breif summery to give you a idea of what this book is about.

Declan Murphy is a teen with a troubled past and a lot of baggage.
Juilet Young is grieving the loss of her mother that she loved dearly.
One day Declan finds a letter on a grave stone in the cemetery he
does community service for. Not expecting anyone to respond he writes back anomalously to the letter. Declan and Juliet end up corresponding through letters and then eventually an on an anonymous e-mail account. Little do they know Juliet and Declan both go to the same High School. Through out the book a lot of secrets and are uncovered. I feel like if I keep writing a summery I will give it away so I am going to stop there.

I finished this book today and I still can't get over it. I miss everything about it......I keep reminding myself there are so many books out there to read and to just keep reading on.

As always- Alex :)

an introduction

Hello, this is my first post..well kinda. I posted a list of books I am reading and its gonna grow. I know nothing about blogging by the way so bare with me. I am learning the ropes.

So lets begin with me and my-life. I love to read (hence the book reviews), cook, doing makeup hanging out with friends, and just write. I wanted to start this blog to share my journey in life. It may not be the most exciting or anything, but to some it might be interesting.

I live in a small town in the middle of Michigan. I often complained about it, but when I take a second to think it really is a good place. I made some good memories here growing and some not so good ones.....but that is life. I have been married for just over a year to a wonderful guy named Christian.

I hope you all stick around and find my blog interesting. I will be posting a book review and much more soon.
